After 5 thrilling stages and more than 1,200 kilometers of travel, passing through over 50 towns in the charming Yucatán Peninsula and visiting historic archaeological sites, as well as enjoying the 5th Paella Festival and the 8th Rally Maya Golf Cup Tournament, the Rally Maya México 2024 came to a close. Car #44, driven by Remigio D. and Remigio D., emerged as the winner that captured the heart of the event.
The Closing Dinner and Award Ceremony for the fifth stage, along with the overall rally awards, were held at the Puerto Cancún beach club.
“Thanks to each and every one of you, participants, drivers, and co-drivers, for making this dream that began 12 years ago a reality and celebrating its tenth anniversary today. It is an honor to have the continuous support of our federations and to have our event recognized as one of the two FIVA world events,” expressed Benjamín De la Peña Mora, CEO and founder of Rally Maya México.
Additionally, this edition featured the presence of Antonio Ardería Freixa, Steward of the Federation, who certified and endorsed the event.
Rally Maya México is recognized for the support of federations that regulate motor sports both in Mexico and internationally. On this occasion, German Uribe from the National Vintage Commission, Rafael Machado from Omdai-FIA, and Luis García Berumen from the National Rally Commission of Mexico served as commissioners throughout the event.
The overall winners received, in addition to their trophies, a certificate from the Juan Manuel Fangio Museum to experience the "Fangio Experience," which includes a stay at the hacienda where the legendary driver lived, a museum visit, and the opportunity to drive one of Fangio's cars. They also received a weekend stay at the Hotel Nizuc, a special prize from Dai Hosoya, president of Subaru Mexico, and a stay at the Tulum Country Club for two people, including green fees to play at the PGA Riviera Maya golf course, prizes that were also awarded in the 8th Golf Tournament.
The evening concluded with various performances organized by the Oasis group through their entertainment department and the screening of a video summarizing this tenth edition. This video captured the most memorable moments of the past nine days and reflected the essence of Rally Maya México, making a reality of the dream that Benjamin de la Peña Mora had 12 years ago, inviting everyone to continue enjoying the pleasure of traveling through time.
